Capture was hired to do the post
production of the short movie “Invasion of the Planet Earth”.
With almost 40 sequences to be worked over, the project proved to be a complex task and required extensive compositing and 3D Solutions.
In several sequences, dramatic effects were added to the story line by creating special effects like gun nozzles with sparking muzzle flash, additional smoke as well as several set-extensions.
An Alien flag was created entirely in 3D and successively implemented into several real scenes after color correction.
The compositing department addressed issues like the re-touching of the space ship, as well as correction of several cosmetic issues. In some scenes the heat signature of the spacecraft propulsion system was added for more dramatic effects.
The flight approach to earth included animated stars in orbit, as well as motion blurs for the approaching spacecraft. The exhaust flames were color corrected.
